• JOB POST (USE THIS VERBATIM OR WITH LIGHT EDITS)

    Title

Chief of Staff–Style Personal Operator (Creative, Technical & Home)

    Location

Los Angeles / Orange County (hybrid, in-person required)

    Compensation

Hourly + equity upside (details below)

    About the Role

This is not a traditional personal assistant role.

You will work directly with a founder, creative, and operator across multiple companies, media projects, and personal logistics. The goal is simple: protect momentum, reduce friction, and help turn ideas into executed reality.

This role blends personal operations, creative support, light technical work, and real-world execution. You will touch everything from shop assistance and laundry care to YouTube content coordination, scheduling, news briefings, and startup operations.

The long-term vision is a trusted right-hand operator — someone who grows alongside the founder across ventures, acquisitions, and creative phases.

    What You’ll Do

    Personal & Home Operations

    • Light cleaning and space resets

    • Laundry with delicate, brand-specific care

    • Groceries and delivery setup

    • Errands, pickups, specialty items (e.g., glass bottle milk)

    • Occasional driving and logistics support

    Creative & Media Support

    • Draft writing, emails, scripts, and documents

    • Basic graphic design (Canva / Figma)

    • YouTube rough cuts, clip pull-downs, editor coordination

    • Manage content handoffs, revisions, and schedules

    Digital & Administrative

    • Inbox and calendar management

    • Schedule coordination and meeting setup

    • Travel planning (finding efficient, low-cost flights)

    • Research and summaries

    • Task tracking and workflow maintenance

    Technical & Startup Support

    • Assist with light manufacturing tasks (painting, sanding, grinding, prep)

    • Organize tools, materials, and inventory

    • Basic programming or automation support

    • AI prompting and workflow assistance

    • Interface with vendors or collaborators

    Information Management

    • Daily or weekly news briefings from email newsletters and Instagram channels

    • Surface relevant events, opportunities, and industry updates

    • Distill information into fast, skimmable summaries

    Who This Is For

    You are:

    • A highly adaptable generalist

    • Comfortable switching between physical and digital work

    • Calm under ambiguity

    • Organized, but not rigid

    • Taste-aware and detail-oriented

    • Curious about startups, media, and creative work

    • Someone who takes pride in being indispensable (without ego)

You enjoy making other people more effective and understand that execution is a form of creativity.

    What This Is Not

    • Not a narrow admin role

    • Not a housekeeper-only position

    • Not a senior engineer role

    • Not a 9–5 clock-punch job

    This is a trust-based, impact-based role.

    Compensation & Growth

    • Hourly pay: $38–55/hour depending on experience

    • Hours: 12–25 hrs/week to start

    • Trial period: 30 days

    Equity:

    • 1–2% equity available for the right person after a proven working relationship

    • Equity vests over time and reflects long-term partnership, not short-term assistance

This role is designed to grow with you — potentially full-time, and potentially spanning multiple ventures over years.

    Values

    • Discretion

    • Reliability

    • Initiative without overstepping

    • Long-term thinking

    • Clean execution

    To Apply

    Send:

    • A short note about why this role fits how you think

    • A few examples of the range of work you’ve done

    • Anything that shows you can operate across worlds (creative, technical, personal)

  • Contract Product Hardware Engineer

    (Embedded & Control Systems)

Contract Role | Prototype → MVP | Hardware Startup

We’re an early-stage hardware startup moving from prototype to MVP, looking for a Product Hardware Engineer with strong embedded systems and applied control systems experience. This role is about owning product decisions, moving fast, and shipping a real, manufacturable MVP.

This is a contract role, not full-time employment.

    What You’ll Do

    • Lead engineering decisions to take a working prototype to MVP

    • Architect, implement, and validate embedded systems and control systems

    • Select and integrate:

    ◦ Sensors

    ◦ MCUs

    ◦ Control strategies (practical, real-world)

    ◦ Power and reliability approaches

    • Balance cost, manufacturability, performance, and speed

    • Rapidly prototype, test, iterate, and de-risk the product

    • Clearly define what belongs in MVP vs future versions

    • Collaborate closely with the founder on scope, tradeoffs, and execution

    Required Experience

    • ~5+ years of relevant experience in:

    ◦ Embedded systems

    ◦ Applied control systems

    ◦ Physical product development
    (or equivalent real-world experience)

    • Hands-on experience with real hardware products

    • Experience working:

    ◦ Under contract

    ◦ With startups or early-stage teams

    • Comfortable making decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

    Equivalent / Non-Traditional Backgrounds

    • We are open to non-traditional or non-linear backgrounds if you can clearly prove your ability to solve the tasks this role requires.

    • Years of experience matter less than demonstrated execution, such as:

    ◦ Prototypes

    ◦ Shipped products

    ◦ Contract work

    ◦ Detailed build documentation or test results

    Additional Responsibilities / Personal Assets

    • Ability to read, understand, draft, and efficiently skim contracts, including SOWs, NDAs, and technical agreements.

    • Comfortable with light financial tracking, including project spend, BOM costs, invoices, and contractor hours.

    • Willing to assist with hiring, onboarding, delegation, and oversight as the team grows.

    • Comfortable building systems and delegating execution, with responsibilities narrowing and becoming more strategic over time.

    Growth & Mindset

    • Willingness to learn and grow on the job, with performance and ownership reflected in increased responsibility and compensation.

    • Comfortable building yourself out of parts of the role as more contributors are added.

    • Bias toward speed, clarity, and shipping over perfection.

    Contract Details

    • Duration: 4–6 months (prototype → MVP phase)

    • Availability: ~8 hours/day, 5 days/week

    • Compensation: $65–$72/hour, depending on experience and scope

    • Engagement: Contract (not full-time)

    • Urgency: Time-sensitive — momentum matters

    Ideal Candidate

    You think in:

    • Systems and constraints

    • MVP reality over theory

    • Speed and execution over elegance

If you can simplify, decide, and ship — you’ll do well here.

    To Apply

    Please include:

    • Relevant experience or portfolio

    • Examples of shipped products or prototypes

    • Availability for the next 4–6 months
